Adriana Vignoli (Brasília, DF, 1981) works with sculpture, drawing, and photography. Her process starts from the construction of geometric objects arranged in space in structures of tension and balance. She proposes sculptures that have their own lives and that change slowly and continuously, transforming themselves into other unpredictable forms. She is interested in dissolving the material and symbolic boundaries of things; to provoke the observer to experience time as a continuous flow, inseparable into past, present, and future.
In 2021, Adriana Vignoli was awarded the Funarte Marc Ferrez prize, and in 2020 she received the National Exhibition Prize from TCU in Brasília. Her work was included in an international group exhibition at Fundación Klemm, Buenos Aires (2019), and exhibited at the Nassauischer Kunstverein in Wiesbaden and the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Dresden (2014), when she lived in Berlin. She was selected for the 24th Salão Anapolino, GO. In 2016, she was nominated for the PIPA Award and was also awarded the Mestre D’Armas Salon of Planaltina, DF. She received the FUNARTE National Award for Contemporary Art, 2015. The artist has a degree in Architecture and Urbanism from the University of Brasília and she is currently a PhD candidate at the Institute of Arts, also from UnB.
