Ana Hortides (Rio de Janeiro, RJ, 1989) is a visual artist and researcher.She researches and builds a poetics around political and social issues involving the home and the intimate, from the point of view of someone who was born and raised in the suburbs of Rio de Janeiro, problematizing in a material and conceptual way, what she calls the political potency of the domestic.
She is a PhD Candidate in Arts at the State University of Rio de Janeiro, Master in Contemporary Studies of the Arts at the Fluminense Federal University (2016), in which she graduated in Cultural Production (2012). She studied at the School of Visual Arts at Parque Lage in Rio de Janeiro.
Her work is part of the collections of the Museu de Arte do Rio, the Museu de Arte Contemporânea de Britânia (MABRI), Goiás and the Acervo Rotativo, in São Paulo. Artist nominated for the PIPA Prize 2021 (RJ), awarded at the 36th Art Salon of Jacarezinho, Paraná (2021) and at the 1st Small Formats Art Salon of MABRI, Goiás (2019). She got a scholarship of the Formation and Deformation Program at the School of Visual Arts of Parque Lage (2021). Finalist of the Concurso Garimpo, DasArtes Magazine (2018).
